Random: The First Time I Said a Curse Word

 Hola mi amigos,
eL Capitale here. How have you guys been? Enjoying the new music from me & Mouse Sucks? I hope so. If you haven't heard our latest stuff then just skim down the blog or click here & here.
 Anyway, this blog post was a random thought of mine. I'm not sure how accurate this is, because it's obviously a long time ago and my memory sucks, but I think I remember the first time I ever said a curse word (bad word/swear word).
 All I remember is being little and in my fathers room jumping on his bed. All of a sudden a question plagued my young mind, "What are all the curse words?". I'm guessing nobody was home or they were doing something that would allow me the time I needed to investigate the answer to my question because I remember reciting all the curse words I could remember while jumping on my fathers bed.
 Now again, I could be wrong about this story. It was a long time ago and I have an active imagination. The thought has occured to me that maybe it was all a dream *Biggie voice*.
 You might ask yourself "WTF does this have to do with your music?" and really it has nothing to do with my music...
 Nope...
 Nothing at all...
 I'm not even gonna try to wrap this one up with a bow of a conclusion...

In Loving Memory of Learie "Family" Corbin

 Last week someone passed away that was near and dear to me and a lot of people I know. Mr. Corbin, better known as Family, was a program director at Bedford Academy High School & spent his time finding ways for the youth to express themselves. Whether it was poetry slams, open mics or bringing people to school to show us a little more about the real world. I'll never forget when he brought Sadat X of the legendary group Brand Nubian to our schools cafeteria. We even got a chance to have a cipher with him. Family was always inviting us to different events so that we would get a chance to do our thing and witness others as they do their thing.
 The last time I saw Family was at a Perch Cafe (Park Slope, Brooklyn) open mic. He came out to support me, Mouse Sucks & Lady Ma MaC Mrs. performing that night. That night, after we had performed, the announcer introduced somebody going by the name of D.I.R.T.. This person turned out to be none other than Family himself. When asked why he chose to refer to himself as dirt that night he simply said that he was the soil helping us young seeds grow.

 With that being the last time we saw Mr. Corbin, I thought it was only right that we make our way back to Perch Cafe in honor of him. So Sunday, February 27th we made our way to a packed house at Perch Cafe and did our thing the way Mr. Corbin would have wanted us to. He was always so positive and supportive towards our dreams and endeavors that it would be wrong to give them up now.

 I dedicate the lyrics above to the memory of Learie "Family" Corbin and follow them with the lyrics below

New Music: Mouse Sucks - "Nice Guys Finish Last"

 Okay so a lot has gone on with Mouse since you last heard from him. He's been getting his feet wet performing at different venues around New York City and he's really been getting a good response every show. The next big change you'll notice is the name. Mouse has officially changed his name from Mouse to Mouse Sucks.  Anyway, the real purpose of this post was to catch you up on what's been going on with this young Childs' Play talent & deliver his new song to you. This song is called "Nice Guys Finish Last" and I know there are a lot of guys that can relate to that subject matter. But I'll stop talking and let you have a listen.
