It's My Party, I Can Cry If I Want To

"I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty years of blessing

The essence of adolescent leaves my body now I'm fresh in

My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it

One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created" - Nas

Capital Ode reporting in. Thank you to everybody who downloaded Success Or Death and everybody who's about to do it now! It's January 18th, the aniversary of when I dropped The LeftOvers. It's also my birthday... My 20th Birthday... My teen years are behind me and I want them back.
Anybody who knows me knows how big of an influence Nas has had on me and my music. "Nas Is Like" inspired me to record my first song. The Queens emcee has a knack for telling his street tales in a way that still amazes me.
Illmatic is one of my favorite albums and one of the few I actually bought with my own money, and with my 20th Birthday coming up one particular song from it's track list has been haunting on my mind lately. That song is "Life's A Bitch", where Nas speaks on turning 20. I might not be as positive about it as he was but you gotta respect the way he did it. He might not have been all that positive considering the songs name was "Life's A Bitch"
Either way, enjoy a dope song from my favorite emcee of all time. Nas
